On this excursion to Parnaíba from Araioses, we will explore the historical significance of this city in Piauí.
Description
At the scheduled time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Araioses and travel to the border of Maranhão and Piauí.
Upon arrival in Parnaíba, we will begin a walking tour of the historic center to explore key monuments. We will discuss the city’s crucial role in regional economic development since the 18th century, while visiting significant buildings, squares, and churches, including the Mãe da Divina Graça Cathedral.
Next, we will visit Porto das Barcas, formerly a storage site for goods required for export to Europe, which has now transformed into a cultural complex with bars, restaurants, and shops.
Following this, we will explore the Museo do Mar, which provides insights into the Parnaíba Delta, the world’s third-largest river mouth. The museum offers valuable information regarding regional history, local fauna, and artisanal fishing methods.
The tour will conclude with our return to your hotel in Araioses, approximately 3 hours after pickup.
