Castro & Guartelá Canyon Tour

One of the most important natural monuments in Brazil awaits you on this excursion to the Guartelá Canyon. We'll enjoy a hiking route through this idyllic place. We'll also take a panoramic tour of the city of Castro.

Castro & Guartelá Canyon Tour

At 7 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Curitiba and go directly to the Guartelá State Park. The journey by minibus will take approximately two and a half hours.

Once we arrive, we'll start a 5-kilometre (3.1 miles) hiking route to explore the largest canyon in Brazil and the sixth largest in the world. The hike, lasting about two and a half hours, provides incredible views of Guartelá Canyon, a natural formation 30 kilometres (18.6 miles) long. We'll also look for local wildlife, including the king vulture, the pigeon sparrowhawk, and various parakeets.

As we ascend to one of the viewpoints, there are waterfalls where you can take a dip if desired.

We'll return to the vehicle and head to Castro for a buffet lunch. Afterward, we'll take a panoramic tour of Castro to admire its main monuments, including its lake park and the church at Morro do Cristo.

Before returning to Curitiba, we'll visit the Tropero de Castro Museum, dedicated to a traditional occupation in Brazil dating back to the 16th century.

We'll finish the tour at 7 pm and drop you off at your hotel in Curitiba.
