One of the most significant natural monuments in Brazil awaits you on this excursion to the Guartelá Canyon, including a hiking route and a panoramic tour of the city of Castro.
Castro & Guartelá Canyon Tour
At 7 am, pick-up will be at your hotel in Curitiba for a direct trip to Guartelá State Park, which takes approximately two and a half hours by minibus.
Upon arrival, we will begin a 5-kilometre (3.1 miles) hiking route to explore the largest canyon in Brazil and the sixth largest in the world. This hike, lasting about two and a half hours, offers impressive views of the Guartelá Canyon, a natural formation 30 kilometres long. Wildlife spotting opportunities include the king vulture, pigeon sparrowhawk, blue-fronted parakeet, purple-breasted parakeet, and other birds.
During the ascent to a viewpoint of the Guartelá Canyon, we will encounter waterfalls where you may take a dip if desired.
Afterward, we will travel to the town of Castro for a buffet lunch. Post-lunch, a panoramic tour will showcase Castro's main monuments, such as the lake park, the church, and Morro do Cristo.
Before returning to Curitiba, we will visit the Tropero de Castro Museum, focused on one of Brazil's oldest professions from the 16th century.
The tour concludes at 7 pm, with drop-off at your hotel in Curitiba.
