Faxina Canyon hike

On this hiking route of moderate difficulty, we'll cover about 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) to Faxina Canyon, located in São Luíz do Purunã, Balsa Nova, Curitiba. This area is part of Brazil's Natural Heritage and features rocks that are over 400 million years old, marking the division between the first and second plateaus of Paraná.

Along the way, we'll encounter trails, waterfalls, and natural viewpoints. There will be an opportunity to take a dip in the river, with a stop (depending on the season) for about 20 minutes. After around 6 hours of activity, we'll return to your hotel in Curitiba.

Araçatuba Peak Hike

This option, also of moderate difficulty, involves an 8-kilometre (5 miles) hike to the peak of Araçatuba, the tallest mountain in south-east Paraná, at an altitude of 1673 metres (5488 feet). Located in Tijucas do Sul, it is part of the Serra do Mar complex near the border of Santa Catarina.

During the ascent, we'll observe unique mountain vegetation and experience the coldest microclimate in Paraná. Fog, occasional rain showers, and sudden cold spells are common. At certain times of the year, we may even encounter snow. The hiking tour will conclude at your hotel in Curitiba after about 10 hours of activity.
