We will pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa at your chosen time and drive down the Uchumayo road to the ashlar stone quarries. Here, a guided tour will explain the work of the quarrymen, whose trade dates back to ancient times. The stones can only be worked by hand to prevent breaking, and the quarrymen carve them into ashlars for local constructions.

The material used comes from the lava of the volcanoes that surround Arequipa. After this, we will walk for 30 minutes to our next destination, the Culebrillas Canyon, a ravine shaped by nature and water. We will hike through the rocky walls, which rise between 50 (15 metres) to 65 feet (20 metres) and view the 1,000-year-old petroglyphs, with their meanings remaining a mystery.

Following a 4-hour tour, we will return to the center of Arequipa and drop you off near the Plaza de Armas.
