Colca Valley is home to one of the deepest canyons in the world. Enjoy its incredible scenery with this day trip from Arequipa and explore the picturesque town of Chivay.

Colca Canyon Day Trip

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa. After approximately 3 hours of driving through southern Peru, we'll arrive at the Andean village of Chivay, where we'll stop for a light breakfast featuring regional specialties.

After breakfast, we'll head to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, located 50 minutes from Chivay. We will spend an hour here, admiring views of Colca Canyon and the chance to see condors in flight.

We will continue to several local viewpoints, such as Wayrapunko and Antahuilque, to observe hanging tombs, lithomachs, and pre-Inca and Inca terraces. A stop will also be made at the thermal baths of Chacapi for those who wish to soak in the curative waters.

Around midday, we'll return to Chivay or a nearby town for some free time for lunch. After lunch, we will visit the Mirador de Los Volcanes to see the Chila mountain range and several volcanoes, including Ampato and Hualca Hualca.

We will cross the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca to see the Misti and Chachani volcanoes. Finally, we'll return to Arequipa to conclude the excursion after approximately 14 hours.

Pickup is included at hotels within 1 kilometer of the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. If your hotel is outside this area, please arrive at the meeting point in the Plaza de Armas by 2:40 am.
