Admire one of the most impressive views of the Andean country with this day trip to Colca Canyon from Arequipa. You'll finish the tour in Puno, Peru's folklore capital, to continue exploring.
Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa and after a 3-hour bus ride through southern Peru, we'll reach the town of Chivay. At more than 3000 meters (9800 feet) above sea level, we'll stop to enjoy a breakfast of bread with butter and jam, along with juice and coffee or tea.
After breakfast, we'll visit the town of Yanque, then head to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. You have the option to embark on a small hike. At the viewpoint, you can admire Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world, and spot Andean condors.
After the viewpoint, we'll visit towns and viewpoints in Colca Valley, like Wayrapunko or Antahuillque, then relax for 1 hour at the Chacapi hot springs. Following this, we'll enjoy typical dishes of the area at a restaurant before heading to Puno, our final destination.
During the journey, we'll stop at the Patapampa viewpoint for views of the Ampato and Sabancaya volcanoes and visit the Salinas Reserve and Lagunillas to observe local wildlife. The day trip will conclude at the historic center of the city of Puno, after a total of 17 hours.
