Day Trip Details

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa and after a 3-hour bus ride through southern Peru, we'll reach the town of Chivay. At more than 3000 meters (9800 feet) above sea level, we'll stop for a breakfast of bread with butter and jam, along with juice and coffee or tea.

After breakfast, we'll visit the town of Yanque, then proceed to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. A small hike is optional. At the viewpoint, you can admire the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world, and spot Andean condors, which thrive in this area.

Following the viewpoint, we'll visit other towns and viewpoints in Colca Valley like Wayrapunko and Antahuillque. Next, we’ll relax for 1 hour at the Chacapi hot springs.

We’ll dine at a restaurant offering typical dishes of the region before heading to Puno. During the journey, we'll stop at the Patapampa viewpoint to see the Ampato and Sabancaya volcanoes, and at the Salinas Reserve and Lagunillas to observe camelids and wild birds. The day trip ends at the historic center of Puno, concluding after a total of 17 hours.
