Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa. After a 3-hour bus ride through southern Peru, we'll reach Chivay, where we'll stop for breakfast at more than 3000 meters (9800 feet) above sea level. The breakfast includes bread with butter and jam, juice, and coffee or tea.
After breakfast, we'll visit the town of Yanque and head to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, where you can embark on a small hike if desired. At the viewpoint, you'll admire Colca Canyon and have the opportunity to spot Andean condors.
Next, we'll visit other towns and viewpoints in Colca Valley, like Wayrapunko or Antahuillque, and relax in the Chacapi hot springs for 1 hour. Our tour will continue at a restaurant for typical dishes of the area before heading to Puno.
We will make stops at the Patapampa viewpoint to admire the Ampato and Sabancaya volcanoes and at the Salinas Reserve and Lagunillas to see herds of camelids or flocks of wild birds. The day trip will conclude in the historic center of Puno after a total of 17 hours.
Hotel Pickup
This activity includes pickup at hotels within a 0.62-mile (1-kilometer) radius of the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. If you're staying outside this area, you'll need to go to the meeting point at the entrance of the Basilica Cathedral of Arequipa in the Plaza de Armas at the designated time.
