Colca Canyon Trek: 2 or 3 Days from Arequipa

Day 1: Arequipa – Cruz del Cóndor – Oasis de Sangalle

At 3 am on the first day, pick up from your hotel in Arequipa and departure to Chivay for breakfast. Then proceed to Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint to admire Colca Canyon. The trek begins at Pampa San Miguel, featuring panoramic views, waterfalls, and bridges. Lunch will be at the home of a family in San Juan de Chuccho. Continue to Sangalle Oasis for swimming and an evening bonfire, where you'll spend the night.

Day 2: Cabanaconde – Chivay – Arequipa

On the second day, start at 5 am and travel to Cabanaconde for breakfast. Then, journey to Chivay, passing the natural viewpoint of Antahuilque and Maca. Arrive at Yanque around 11:30 am for hot springs. Lunch in Chivay and visit the viewpoint of the Andes for views of Hualca Hualca, Sabanaya, and Ampato. Lastly, stop at Pampas Cañahuas to see vicuñas before returning to Arequipa, arriving at 5:30 pm.

3-day trek in Colca Canyon

With the reservation for a 3-day trek, explore more of the Colca Valley. This includes visits to Cosñirhua, Malata, Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve, and the opportunity to join a fishing tour on the Colca River.
