Day 1: Arequipa - Colca Canyon - Chivay

Pick up from your accommodation in Arequipa is at 2:30 am. Journey through the Peruvian countryside for about three hours with a breakfast stop in the town of Yanque. After an hour and a half, visit the Condor Cross viewpoint for views of condors and Colca Canyon. Continue to the town of Maca, known for its local culture and colonial-style church. Pass by pre-Inca terraces before reaching the Valley's hot springs for relaxation. The day's destination is Chivay, where you have the afternoon to explore the town situated at over 9842 feet (3000 metres) above sea level.

Day 2: Chivay - Apurímac River - Arequipa

Begin with breakfast at the hotel before departing Chivay for the Apurímac River, about two and a half hours away. At 16,400 feet (5000 metres) above sea level, walk alongside the river to observe Andean wildlife. Experience the clear waters flowing from the Andes. Return to Chivay around midday for lunch (not included) and visit the Patapampa mountains and volcano before heading back to Arequipa. Drop-off will be around 6 pm in the city center, between Zela and Santa Catalina streets.

Accommodation for one night is included at Hotel Colca Llaqta or a similar hotel.

Hotel Pick Up

Pick up is from your accommodation in Arequipa city center at 2:30 am. If outside the center, meet at the Plaza de Armas, opposite the cathedral.

Tickets

The tour excludes the tourist ticket to the Colca Canyon (approx. 23 USD) and entrance to the hot springs (approx. 6 USD).
