The Colca Valley offers a mix of nature and tradition, highlighted by a visit to Chivay and the Apurímac River, the source of the Amazon River. This two-day tour allows exploration of one of Peru's most remarkable regions.

Colca Valley 2 Day Trip

Day 1: Arequipa - Colca Canyon - Chivay

Picking up participants at 2:30 am from their accommodation in Arequipa, we will travel approximately three hours to the town of Yanque for a typical breakfast. After an additional hour and a half, we arrive at the Condor Cross viewpoint to see condors and the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world.

We will visit Maca, a small town known for its colonial architecture, before proceeding through the Colca Valley, passing pre-Inca terraces. The day concludes in Chivay, the capital of the Colca Valley, where participants can explore at their leisure in the afternoon.

Day 2: Chivay - Apurímac River - Arequipa

The day begins with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a trip to the Apurímac River, located two and a half hours away. Here, at 16,400 feet (5000 meters), we will walk alongside the river to view Andean landscapes and wildlife. Afterward, we'll return to Chivay for lunch (not included) and visit the Patapampa mountains for scenic views before returning to Arequipa around 6 pm.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night at Hotel Colca Llaqta or a similar hotel.

Hotel Pick Up

Picks up are available from accommodations in the Arequipa city center. Participants outside this area will meet at the Plaza de Armas at 2:30 am.

Tickets

The tour does not cover the tourist ticket to Colca Canyon (approx. 23 USD) required for entry, nor the entrance to the hot springs (approx. 6 USD).
