Love history? Then this day trip to the petroglyphs in Toro Muerto from Arequipa is the one for you. We'll explore one of the largest rock art collections in the Americas and learn about the Prehispanic culture that left its mark on these ancient stones.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa and head northeast. After 3 hours by bus, we'll arrive at the village of Corire, where you'll have about 1 hour of free time for breakfast.
Afterwards, we'll visit the Toro Muerto petroglyphs for a guided tour lasting between 2 and 3 hours. We will reveal the secrets of the rock engravings, with over 6000 blocks of rock exhibiting human figures, animals, and symbols dating back to 800 AD.
Following the tour, we will visit the Incan suspension bridge of Quiscay over the Majes River, offering scenic views of the mountains and valley for photo opportunities. You'll have 1 hour of free time to grab some lunch before we return to Arequipa, where we will drop you off at your hotel after this 11-hour trip.
Children Under 6
Children under 6 can travel for free but must remain seated on an adult's lap. If you need a seat for them, a child's ticket must be purchased.
