Mollendo Day Trip

At 7:40 am, we'll pick you up and depart for Mollendo, located about 124 miles (100 kilometers) from Arequipa. The route includes passing through the port of Matarni, the most important in southern Peru.

Upon arrival in Mollendo, the capital of Islay province, you will observe the unique architecture characterized by a mix of colonial-style mansions and white sandy beaches.

A walk along Comercio Street will reveal iconic buildings from the end of the 19th century, reflecting the city's growth following the arrival of the railway.

Continuing along Mariscal Castilla Avenue, notable historic buildings include Villa Velásquez, a mansion constructed in 1912, and the Church of the Immaculate Conception, which features a unique two-towered vault.

The next stop is the Ratti seafront, where you can enjoy views of the beaches, pier, Mollendo water park, and the old Forga Castle, which has a counterpart on the Moroccan coast.

After exploring Mollendo, we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch. Following lunch, we'll return to Arequipa and drop you off at your hotel around 5:30 pm.
