On this excursion, we'll explore the sillar stone quarries of Arequipa, see impressive landscapes, and visit the town of Yura, famous for its thermal baths.

Sillar Route & Yura Thermal Baths Tour

After being picked up from your hotel in Arequipa at 8 am, we'll set off to the Sillar Route. We'll first travel by minibus to the Añaswayq'u Quarries, where sillar stone is excavated.

Upon reaching the quarry, we'll learn about sillar and its significance in the history of this region. Additionally, we will admire the surrounding landscapes and their historic carvings, and observe local masons using traditional methods to work with the stone.

Next, we'll visit the Culebrillas ravine, where we will see the erosion effects of air and water on the rocky landscape.

After exploring the Sillar Route, we'll head to Yura, where we will visit a colonial-style church and stop at a viewpoint to appreciate the Andean landscapes. Then, we'll proceed to the thermal baths of Yura, where you will have one hour of free time to enjoy the waters.

At the end of the tour, we will return to your hotel in Arequipa, arriving by 2 pm.
