Join us to discover two of Kefalonia's most important historical treasures on this trip to the Castle of St. George and the Monastery of Agios Gerasimos from Argostoli.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Argostoli and start our journey to the Castle of St. George and the Monastery of Agios Gerasimos.

We will first make a short stop at the viewpoints near the Katavothres Ferris wheel and the historic lighthouse of Argostoli to enjoy sea views.

Next, we will visit the Castle of St. George, built in the 12th century and completed in the mid-16th century. The castle is located on a hill 320 metres (1,049 feet) above sea level and is divided into two parts with an inner courtyard in the shape of a horseshoe. You will see coats of arms of Venetian rulers from the 1500s on its walls.

After the castle, we will visit the Monastery of Agios Gerasimos, a significant pilgrimage site, where we will explore its hermitage and enter its two underground rooms accessed by a narrow path.

To conclude, we will visit the Vasilakis Culture boutique for an aperitif of local products including wine, olive oil, and traditional sweets. The total duration of the activity is 4 hours, ending at the starting point.

Included

  • Hotel pickup and drop–off
  • Transport by bus
  • English–speaking guide
