Join us to discover two of Kefalonia's most important historical treasures on this trip to the Castle of St. George and the Monastery of Agios Gerasimos from Argostoli.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Argostoli and start our journey to the Castle of St. George and the Monastery of Agios Gerasimos.

We will make a short stop at the viewpoints next to the Katavothres Ferris wheel and the historic lighthouse of Argostoli for sea views.

Next, we'll visit the village of Kastro to explore the Castle of St. George, a fortress built in the 12th century and completed in the mid-16th century, located on a hill 320 metres (1,049 feet) above sea level. The castle features a horseshoe-shaped inner courtyard and walls adorned with coats of arms of Venetian rulers from the 1500s.

Following the castle, we'll tour the Monastery of Agios Gerasimos, a sacred pilgrimage site in Kefalonia, where we can admire its hermitage and enter its 2 underground rooms, accessed by a narrow path.

To conclude, we'll visit the Vasilakis Culture boutique for an aperitif of typical products including wine, olive oil, and traditional sweets. The total duration of the activity is 4 hours, culminating at the starting point.

Included
