Few words can describe the beauty of the Lauca National Park. With this excursion, you'll enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Lake Chungará, located in a rich ecosystem where you'll see llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and other animals of the Andean highlands.

Lake Chungará Tour

Between 7 am and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Arica and depart for the Andean highlands of northern Chile to tour Lauca National Park, home to Lake Chungará.

We will stop in the town of Poconchile to visit the church of San Jerónimo, dating back to 1605. The route to Chungará includes the ravine of Los Cardones, the village of Malku, and the viewpoint of Putre, where we will enjoy panoramic views of the park.

The tour continues to the viewpoint of Chucuyo, the final stop before Lake Chungará, which is situated at an altitude of 4500 meters (14763 feet). We will walk around the lake to observe native animals such as alpacas, guanacos, vicuñas, and llamas.

Lake Chungará also attracts numerous birds, including Chilean flamingos, Neotropic cormorants, South American ostriches, giant taguas, and condors. After observing these endemic bird species, we will head to a local restaurant for a three-course lunch of local cuisine.

After lunch, we will return to your hotel in Arica, arriving at 7 pm.
