Red Lagoon Tour
Pickup from your hotel in Arica will be between 5 am and 6 am. The tour will commence after passing through the Huara crossroads, with a stop at the Chillaiza petroglyphs to observe Inca carvings. The next stop will be in the village of Camiña for a breakfast.
After breakfast, the route continues to the banks of the Caritaya River. At an altitude of 3700 metres (12139 feet), you will see the crimson waters of the famous Red Lagoon and learn about the natural causes of its scarlet pigments.
Following the Red Lagoon excursion, the tour includes visits to the Verde and Amarilla lagoons, known for their yellow and green colors caused by various microalgae, minerals, and other natural elements.
The route will conclude at a restaurant in Camiña, where a local lunch consisting of three dishes of local gastronomy will be served. After lunch, you will return to your hotel in Arica, with an expected arrival time of 6 pm.
