La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion
At 7 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Armenia and travel to the department of Risaralda. After a 90-minute trip, we will arrive at the El Guásimo Natural Reserve in La Virginia.
We will begin a three-hour hike through this protected area, known as the only dry tropical forest in the Andean region.
Upon reaching the Cauca River, we will follow its course for one hour, exploring lush vegetation and observing a variety of flora and fauna, including monkeys, felines, rodents, armadillos, and sloths.
During the hike, we will take a break for a typical lunch, which includes a main dish and a drink.
We will then travel to La Virginia, where the Cauca and Risaralda rivers meet. The town tour will showcase its extensive coffee plantations and share some of the local legends and traditions.
Finally, we will return to Armenia, dropping you off at your hotel around 2 pm.
