La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion

At 7 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Armenia and travel to the department of Risaralda. After a one and a half hour trip, we'll arrive at the El Guásimo Natural Reserve in La Virginia.

We'll begin a three-hour hike through this protected area, known as the only dry tropical forest in the Andean region.

Upon reaching the Cauca River, we'll follow its course for one hour, exploring the vegetation and observing the diversity of flora and fauna. Species such as monkeys, felines, rodents, armadillos, and sloths can be found here.

During the hike, we will take a break to enjoy a typical lunch that includes a main dish and a drink.

Following the hike, we will travel to La Virginia, a town at the confluence of the Cauca and Risaralda rivers. We will tour the town and view its coffee plantations, while learning about local legends and traditions.

We will return to Armenia and drop you off at your hotel around 2 pm.
