Excursion to La Virginia & El Guásimo

The day begins at 7 am when you will be collected from your accommodations in Armenia to embark on a journey towards the Risaralda department. After a scenic drive lasting approximately an hour and a half, we will reach the El Guásimo Natural Reserve located in La Virginia.

Upon arrival, we will initiate a three-hour trek across this stunning protected environment, noted for hosting the only dry tropical forest within the entirety of the Andean region.

As we arrive at the Cauca River, we'll follow its path for an hour while navigating through lush greenery and taking in the abundant flora and fauna of the area. The forest is home to a variety of species including monkeys, wild cats, rodents, armadillos, and sloths.

Along the hike, we will pause to regain our strength with a traditional meal featuring a main dish and a beverage.

Subsequently, we will continue to La Virginia, a charming town where the Cauca and Risaralda rivers converge. As we explore the town, we will observe its vast coffee plantations while discovering some of the regional myths and customs.

We will conclude the day by returning to Armenia, aiming to have you back at your hotel by around 2 pm.
