Marsella Day Trip
At 7 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Armenia and drive to the town of Marsella, originally named "Villa Rica de Segovia".
On the way, you'll see the coffee plantations of the Cauca River valley. In Marsella, we'll visit an agricultural farm where locals will serve a snack of patacones con hogao, made from the farm's produce.
Next, you'll tour the cacao plantations and fruit trees, with opportunities to taste ripe fruit. You'll participate in an organic chocolate making workshop, extracting, roasting, and grinding cocoa beans.
After letting the chocolate cool, you will create a cocoa drink to enjoy with a traditional lunch of sancocho, made with chicken and vegetables from the farm.
Post-lunch, we'll drive to the village square for Colombian coffee. Then, we'll walk around Marsella, visiting significant sights such as the Mary Immaculate Church and the House of Culture, home to a National Heritage museum.
Finally, we'll visit the Botanical Garden and the José María Cemetery before returning to your hotel in Armenia, with drop-off scheduled for 4:30 pm.
