Otún Quimbaya Sanctuary Hike
After picking you up from your hotel in Armenia at 8 am, we'll drive north for 1 hour and 30 minutes to the Otún Quimbaya Flora and Fauna Sanctuary.
Upon arrival at this nature reserve in the Central Cordillera of the Colombian Andes, dedicated to the conservation of various species, some endangered, we will begin our 1.2-mile (2-kilometre) hike through the Andean rainforest. This low-difficulty hike will allow us to observe several bird species in their natural habitat, including moustached antpittas, multicoloured tanagers, torrent ducks, and other endemic birds.
Additionally, we will encounter mammals like monkeys, silver foxes, tapirs, and pacaranas, as the sanctuary provides a protected environment for these animals.
During the hike, we will take a break for a traditional local lunch, which includes one course and a drink. After lunch, we will continue exploring the region's nature.
Finally, we will return to Armenia and drop you off at your hotel by 3 pm.
