Would you like to learn how Colombian cuisine is sweetened? If so, you'll love our Panela Tour! We'll set off from Armenia and take a journey through sugar cane plantations.

At 8 am, we'll meet you at your hotel in Armenia and depart for an agricultural farm in a 1-hour 30-minute drive.

Upon arrival, we'll explore the sugar cane plantations where panela is sourced. This natural sweetener is used in various Colombian desserts and drinks like aguapanela, guarapo, and chicha.

We'll learn about the panela production process, where sugar canes are crushed in mills known as trapiches before being moulded and beaten into solid blocks. Farm workers will explain this process in detail.

After understanding the significance of this ingredient in Colombian cuisine, we will visit a local nature park for a hike followed by free time for lunch and exploration.

You'll be dropped off back at your hotel at 4 pm.
