Pereira & Banana Plantation Tour

At 8 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Armenia and drive to Pereira, located 28 miles (45 kilometres) away.

After an hour's drive, we will arrive near Pereira and take a tour of its pineapple plantations to learn about the local fruit tradition in Risaralda.

Following this, we will stop for a tasting of arepas de choclo, corn tortillas typically served with a special sauce.

We will then head to the city centre of Pereira, where we will see the César Gaviria viaduct, Simón Bolívar Square, and the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Pobreza. We will also learn about the origin of Pereira's name.

The next stop will be a banana farm, where we will discover the cultivation process of Colombian bananas, from planting to harvesting. Colombia is the fifth largest exporter of bananas in the world.

Finally, we will return to Armenia and drop you off at your hotel at 3 pm.
