Quimbaya Bamboo Raft Ride
Pick-up from your hotel in Armenia will be at 9 am. The journey will lead to the municipality of Quimbaya.
Upon arrival, an explanation of the bamboo raft trip along the La Vieja river will be provided. These rafts resemble those used by pre-Columbian Indians.
The river navigation will last about four hours. The exact route may vary due to river currents, but the landscapes will be impressive and local wildlife may be spotted.
Midway, a stop at a family farm will allow for rest and a delicious lunch. The meal includes sudado montañero, a typical dish of Quindío made with potato, yucca, plantain, beef or chicken, and salad.
The activity will conclude with a return to Armenia by approximately 2 pm.
