On our Tenerife Snorkelling & Sea Turtle Watching activity, we'll explore the diverse marine ecosystem and observe sea turtles.
Description
At 9 am, we'll meet at the Port of Las Galletas and board a Zodiac-type boat, which will take us to an area for snorkelling and turtle observation.
We will pass by the Malpais de Rasca, a protected nature reserve with a notable volcanic landscape. After receiving instructions from an expert on how to snorkel, we can put on our snorkelling gear and enter the Atlantic Ocean.
Look for loggerhead and green turtles swimming in their natural habitat, which can grow over 3 feet long (1 metre). We may also encounter shoals of white seabream, bogas, and other fish species commonly found in Tenerife's seabed.
We will return to the starting point around 11 am.
Sea Turtle Watching
The coast of Tenerife is an excellent location in the Canary Islands for viewing sea turtles. However, animals are unpredictable, and while spotting turtles is highly probable, it cannot be guaranteed as they are wild. The activity will respect the animals with small groups and consideration for the marine environment.
