Thinking of doing a safari near Arusha? Discover Lake Manyara National Park from a 4x4 with an English-speaking guide and drive through the village of Mto Wa Mbu to get a taste of traditional Tanzanian life.
Lake Manyara Safari
After picking you up from your hotel in Arusha, we will head to the village of Mto Wa Mbu. You will learn about Tanzanian culture in this village, home to nearly 120 different tribes. The local economy is primarily based on agriculture, particularly rice and bananas, along with cattle raising. Food stalls and local artists can be found in the streets.
Following the village visit, we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, designated a Biosphere Reserve in 1981. The park is known for its variety of ecosystems including semi-arid areas, swampy spaces, and acacia or baobab forests.
In the park, you can see a range of wildlife: elephants, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, baboons, and up to 400 species of birds. Notably, the park is known for its lions that are often found perched in trees, a behavior that your guide will explain during the tour.
In the afternoon, we will return to the vehicles and take you back to your hotel in Arusha.
Important
On the day of the activity, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for hiking. Don't forget a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
