Mount Kilimanjaro Hike: 10 Days

During the 10-day hike, we'll ascend along the Lemosho route to Kilimanjaro, enjoying varied landscapes, including forests, plateaus, desert, and glaciers.

Day 1: Arusha

We'll meet at the airport and transfer you to the hotel in Arusha. After settling in, we'll meet the guides to discuss the details of the Lemosho route. The day will conclude with dinner.

Day 2: Arusha - Londorossi Gate

After breakfast, we’ll drive for two hours to Londorossi Gate, the western entrance to Kilimanjaro. The 5 km trek will begin here, taking us through cultivated fields to the Lemosho trail. We will meet guides from the local Chagga tribe and camp at Big Tree camp for dinner and the night.

Day 3: Londorossi Gate - Meseta de Shira

Post breakfast, we’ll leave the forest and ascend through heather fields for about 9 km (5 mi), reaching the edge of the Shira plateau. We will camp in this wildlife-rich area for the night.

Day 4: Shira Plateau

We’ll cross the Shira plateau and ascend toward a large gorge. After about six hours, we will reach Moir camp, located under the ice fields, for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Shira Plateau

We'll continue west, crossing a moorland and entering the Alpine desert. We'll only travel 5 km (3 mi) to the Lava Tower camp at 4,114 m (13,000 ft) to acclimate.

Day 6: Shira Plateau - Barranco Valley

We’ll embark on a 7-hour walk to Barranco Valley, arriving at Karanga Valley camp for dinner and a sunset view over Kilimanjaro glacier valley.

Day 7: Barranco Valley - Desert Plateau

We’ll start the morning by crossing the Karanga River and climbing about 6 km (3.7 mi) to reach the desert plateau, arriving at Kosovo camp.

Day 8: Desert Plateau - Uhuru

We’ll ascend early to Uhuru Peak at 5,896 m (19,000 ft), the highest point in Africa, for views and photos before descending back to camp.

Day 9: Uhuru - Mweka Gate - Arusha

We’ll descend through the jungle to Mweka Gate, have lunch, and return to the hotel in Arusha for a celebration dinner.

Day 10: Arusha

We'll escort you to the airport for your departure flight.
