Mount Kilimanjaro Hike: 7 Days

The Marangu Route is the fastest and easiest way to climb to the top of Kilimanjaro. Most camps on this route have running water and solar energy.

Day 1: Arusha

Upon arrival, transportation will take you to your hotel in Arusha to settle in. You can rest or explore the area before starting the hike.

Day 2: Arusha - Marangu Gate

After breakfast, we'll meet with the Marangu route guides and depart for Marangu Gate, the entry point to Kilimanjaro. The 8 km (5 mi) journey includes wildlife sightings and a lunch stop before reaching the Mandara Huts camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Marangu Gate - Mawenzi & Kibo Volcanoes

Post breakfast, we'll walk for an hour through the jungle and then proceed to the Horombo Huts camp after a 11 km (7 mi) hike, with a lunch break along the way, enjoying views of Mawenzi volcano.

Day 4: Mawenzi & Kibo Volcanoes

We will hike towards the Kibo summit after lunch, with a break to admire the volcanoes. Later, we'll spend the night at the Kibo Huts camp, which lacks running water.

Day 5: Kibo Volcano - Uhuru

Waking at midnight, we will ascend to Uhuru peak, stopping at Gilman's Point along the way. Sunrise views await at 5895 m (19000 ft) before descending back to Kibo Huts for dinner and then to Horombo Huts.

Day 6: Uhuru - Mandara Gate - Arusha

The final descent takes us to Mandara Huts for lunch and then to Mandara Gate. A vehicle will return us to the hotel in Arusha.

Day 7: Arusha

Breakfast at the hotel before departing for the airport.
