Mount Kilimanjaro Hike: 7 Days

The Marangu Route is the fastest and easiest way to climb to the top of Kilimanjaro, with most camps equipped with running water and solar energy.

Day 1: Arusha

Upon arrival, we will take you to the hotel in Arusha for check-in and to rest before the hike begins.

Day 2: Arusha - Marangu Gate

After breakfast, we will meet with the Marangu route guides. We will travel to Marangu Gate, taking an 8 km (5 mi) journey where we may see colobus monkeys and eucalyptus forests. A lunch stop will be made before arriving at Mandara Huts camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Marangu Gate - Mawenzi & Kibo Volcanoes

After breakfast, we will walk for an hour through the jungle and enjoy views of Mawenzi volcano. After travelling 11 km (7 mi), we will reach Horombo Huts camp for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Mawenzi & Kibo Volcanoes

The day involves hiking towards the Kibo summit, with time for views of the volcanoes and a lunch break. We will rest at Kibo Huts camp, which has no running water.

Day 5: Kibo Volcano - Uhuru

We will start the ascent to Uhuru peak at midnight, passing through Gilman’s Point to admire the ice caps. At 5895 m (19,000 ft), we will experience the sunrise before starting the descent back to Kibo Huts and then to Horombo Huts for the night.

Day 6: Uhuru - Mandara Gate - Arusha

The descent continues, reaching Mandara Huts for lunch before heading to Mandara Gate for a vehicle transfer back to the hotel in Arusha.

Day 7: Arusha

We will have breakfast at the hotel and depart for the airport.
