Climb to the top of Africa's most famous peak! The Marangu route will allow you to enjoy the unique environment while on the Mount Kilimanjaro Trek lasting 7 Days.

Mount Kilimanjaro Trek: 7 Days

The Marangu Route is the fastest and easiest way to climb to the top of Kilimanjaro. Most of the camps included in this route have running water and solar energy.

Day 1

At the appointed time, we'll be waiting for you at the airport to take you to the hotel in Arusha, where you can settle in quietly and enjoy the views. You can take advantage to rest or inspect the area before the great adventure begins.

Day 2

After breakfast, we'll meet with the Marangu route guides to get familiar with the expedition details. We'll leave the hotel and make our way towards Marangu Gate, the gateway to the eastern part of Kilimanjaro. Along the eight kilometres (5 miles) journey, we'll have the opportunity to see colobus monkeys and eucalyptus forests. We'll stop for lunch before continuing to the Mandara Huts camp, where we'll have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3

After breakfast, we'll leave the camp and walk for an hour through jungle clearings until we reach a path of heather and giant lobelias. We will stop for lunch and views of the Mawenzi volcano. After eleven kilometres (7 miles), we'll arrive at the Horombo Huts camp, where we'll admire the Kibo volcano.

Day 4

We prepare our trekking equipment for the third day. Crossing paths full of heather, we'll arrive at the port connecting Kilimanjaro with the Mawenzi and Kibo volcanoes. After lunch, we’ll hike several hours through arid terrain to the Kibo summit and rest at the Kibo Huts camp.

Day 5

We'll wake up at midnight to climb to Uhuru peak. We'll hike four kilometres (2 miles) and stop at Gilman's Point to see the ice caps. As we reach the summit, we'll see the sunrise at 5895 meters (19000 feet). After enjoying the views, we'll descend back to Kibo Huts for dinner and then to Horombo Huts for the night.

Day 6

On the final day of the route, we'll descend through the moors to Mandara Huts for lunch. We'll continue down three kilometres (2 miles) to Mandara Gate, where a vehicle will take us back to the hotel in Arusha.

Day 7

We'll have breakfast at the hotel and head back to the airport.

Accommodation

For the first and final night of the trek, we'll stay at the Maura Apartments & Lodges. On the other nights, we'll eat and sleep in camps.
