On the third day, reach the summit of Mount Meru after more than 5 km (3 mi) of hiking. Enjoy views of Kilimanjaro and the crater. After a meal at Saddle Hut, descend 13 km (8 mi) on arid trails, spending the night at the Meriakamba Hut camp.
