Cilento Coast Hike

Follow in the footsteps of famous archaeologists on our Cilento Coast Hike. You'll also be accompanied by the sweet scent of the fragrant Ginestra del Cilento flower while you walk.

Cilento Coast Hike

At 9 am, we'll meet in front of the Ascea Railway Station and set off on our hike along the Cilento Coast. This area in the Campania region includes the coastline between the gulfs of Salerno and Policastro and has been declared a World Heritage Site.

We'll walk along paths frequented by prestigious archaeologists, such as François Lenormant, in search of ruins. One of the notable ruins is the Telegraph Tower, dating back to the 16th century.

As we walk, we will notice the scent of ginestra cilentina, a flower characteristic of this part of Italy. These flowers will accompany us throughout the hike as we pass through tunnels carved into cliffs and hidden coves.

During our hike along the Cilento Coast, we will also climb to the Piano della Torre peak, from where we can enjoy panoramic views of the surroundings.

We will then return to Ascea, concluding our route at 12 noon.
