Assisi Private Tour
This private tour kicks off just outside the Basilica of St. Clare. Over the course of 3 hours, you will stroll through the enchanting streets of Assisi, pausing to admire its key monuments as well as any other intriguing spots you wish to explore.
Our first destination will be the city’s two crowning jewels: the Upper Basilica of St. Francis and the Lower Basilica of St. Francis. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000, this sacred building was erected to honor the founder of the Franciscan Order and stands as an essential point of interest for visitors in the Perugia area.
During approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, we will delve into the various chapels that comprise this holy site, as well as the crypt that houses the remains of St. Francis.
Next, we will head to the Temple of Minerva, located in the bustling Piazza del Comune. While it currently serves as a church, its roots trace back to the era of the Old Roman Empire. You will learn about its rich history and much more throughout the visit.
Following this, a visit to the Chiesa Nuova awaits, a significant spiritual location established on the site where St. Francis of Assisi grew up.
The tour concludes with a deeper understanding of both the city's history and the impactful life led by St. Francis in this remarkable Italian town.
