Get to know the Jesuit Missions of Santísima Trinidad del Paraná and Jesús de Tavarangüé with this trip from Asunción.

Jesuit Missions Excursion

At 12:01 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Asunción to begin the journey to the Jesuit Missions of Trinidad and Jesús de Tavarangue. You'll learn about the history of these Guaraní villages founded in the 17th century.

We'll board a comfortable private vehicle and make a six-and-a-half-hour drive to the reductions, observing Paraguay's scenery and stopping for breakfast along the way.

We'll arrive at the Jesuit Missions of Santísima Trinidad del Paraná, the largest and best-preserved Guaraní reduction in the country, featuring a main square and the largest temple among the reductions, declared a World Heritage Site in 1993.

Next, we'll continue to the missions of Jesús de Tavarangüé in Itapúa, known for its incomplete large church due to the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1768 by Charles III of Spain.

After the visits, we'll go to Encarnación for a buffet lunch or a full menu at the Hotel Papillón de Bella Vista. In the afternoon, you have free time to stroll along the Costanera, shop, or relax on San José beach.

At 6 pm, we'll conclude the excursion and return to Asunción, dropping you off at your hotel by 11 pm.
