San Bernardino Day Trip

At 9 am, pickup from your hotel in Asunción will commence for the trip to San Bernardino, located on the shores of Ypacaraí Lake. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes, showcasing the Cordillera Department's landscapes and picturesque villages known for their handicrafts.

Upon arrival in San Bernardino, recognized as a popular summer destination frequented by artists and millionaires, we will begin our activities. The first stop will be Ypacaraí Lake for a boat ride, during which the history and geography of San Bernardino will be discussed. A notable landmark, the Hotel del Lago, a 19th-century building that has hosted presidents such as Franklin D. Roosevelt and Charles de Gaulle, will also be highlighted. A traditional lunch will be served at this hotel, followed by a tour of its elegant style and furnishings.

Following lunch, a guided tour of San Bernardino will cover its avenues, squares, and main buildings. The experience will conclude with a visit to La Alemana, a shop famous for its buns, offering some free time to sample these treats. The return to Asunción will result in drop-off at your hotel around 7 pm.
