Ancient Corinth Day Trip
We will pick you up from your hotel in Athens and travel west towards Ancient Corinth. During the drive, we will pass sites like Daphnis and Elefsis and enjoy coastal landscapes.
Our first stop will be the Corinth Canal, an engineering feat built in the 1890s to unite the Saronic Gulf with the Gulf of Corinth. We will pause to take photos of the panoramic view.
Continuing to Corinth, we will explore the area's rich history visible in its archaeological ruins. The city was historically significant, serving as a major hub where the apostle St. Paul preached for 18 months in 50 A.D.
During our visit, we will see the Agora or market square, several fountains, and the Temple of Apollo from the 6th century B.C. Despite earthquakes in 375 A.D. and 521 A.D., the Roman city layout is preserved, allowing us to envision life in ancient Greece and Rome.
We will return to Athens approximately 6 hours after pickup.
