Discover the landmarks in Athens lit up on this night walking tour around Monastiraki Square, one of the most lively and vibrant areas in the city.
Description
The evening tour of Athens starts at the entrance to Hotel the Dolli. We will explore Plaka and Monastiraki, visiting historic temples such as the Orthodox Church of St. Mary Pantanassa and the Tzistarakis Mosque, while learning about their history and associated tales.
Behind the mosque are the remains of the ancient library of Hadrian, offering views of the Acropolis of Athens and its illuminated monuments (the Parthenon, the Propylaea, and the Erechtheion). Near this area is the Cathedral of the Annunciation of St. Mary and Hadrian's Arch from the 2nd century AD.
The tour lasts 2.5 hours and concludes at the starting point.
Dinner
You can opt for a tour option with dinner. After the walking tour, directions to the Meandros restaurant will be provided, where you can enjoy an appetizer, Greek salad, and a main course with five meat varieties and bread. This option extends the total duration to 4.5 hours.
