Discover the landmarks in Athens lit up on this night walking tour around Monastiraki Square, one of the most lively and vibrant areas in the city.

Description

The evening tour of Athens will start at the designated time at the entrance to Hotel the Dolli. The night tour will cover Plaka and Monastiraki.

In the city center, we’ll find two historic temples: the Orthodox Church of St. Mary Pantanassa and the Tzistarakis Mosque. We will learn about the history of these two religious buildings while admiring their illumination. One of them harbors a curse.

Behind the mosque are the remains of the ancient library of Hadrian. Next to this site, we’ll enjoy views of the Acropolis of Athens, with illuminated monuments like the Parthenon, Propylaea, and Erechtheion.

Nearby, we’ll find the Cathedral of the Annunciation of St. Mary, a key temple of Plaka. This area features signs of the imperial era, including Hadrian's Arch from the 2nd century AD.

After 2.5 hours, the tour will conclude back at the starting point.

Dinner

For those who choose the dinner option, after the tour, directions to Meandros restaurant will be provided, where a meal consisting of an appetizer, Greek salad, and a main course with five meat varieties and bread will be served. The total duration will be 4.5 hours.

Language

If the group does not meet the minimum number of people, the tour will be conducted by a bilingual guide in English and Spanish.
