On this Greek mythology tour of Athens, we will explore the foundations of the Greek capital through its legends, including deities like Zeus, Athena, Aries, Aphrodite, and more.

Tour Details

We will meet at the specified time in front of the National Library of Greece to commence the tour of Greek mythology in Athens. We'll discuss well-known myths as well as lesser-known ones.

What is Athens' foundation myth? Who is the patron deity of the city? Why was the Acropolis constructed? We will provide answers to these questions during this mythological tour of Athens.

We will look back at an era filled with unsolved mysteries, admiring the exterior of the Academy of Athens, which features the only sculptures of Plato and Socrates in the city, and the Numismatic Museum, highlighting ancient Greek coins and their significance in the economy and politics of the time.

Afterwards, we will walk through the National Garden and view the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Arch of Hadrian. At each location, we will share various myths featuring gods of the Greek pantheon, including Zeus, Poseidon, and Aphrodite. This will be a journey through Greek mythology, philosophy, and poetry.

Finally, after a total of 2 hours, we'll conclude the tour in front of the Acropolis Museum.
