On this Greek mythology tour of Athens, participants will explore the legends that form the foundation of the Greek capital, featuring deities such as Zeus, Athena, Aries, and Aphrodite.
Tour Details
Participants will meet at the National Library of Greece to commence the tour. The tour will cover well-known and lesser-known myths, including Athens' foundation myth, the city's patron saint, and the construction of the Acropolis.
The tour will include a visit to the exterior of the Academy of Athens, housing the only sculptures of Plato and Socrates in the city, and the Numismatic Museum, which details the role of ancient Greek coins in the economy and politics.
Participants will also stroll through the National Garden and in front of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Arch of Hadrian. At each location, various myths involving Greek gods like Zeus, Poseidon, and Aphrodite will be discussed, connecting mythology to Athenian philosophy and poetry.
The tour lasts a total of 2 hours, concluding at the Acropolis Museum.
