Tour Details
We will meet in front of the National Library of Greece to begin this tour of Greek mythology in Athens. During the tour, we will discuss some of the best-known myths and lesser-known ones.
We will address questions such as Athen's foundation myth, the patron saint protecting the city, and the reasons behind the construction of the Acropolis. This mythological tour reveals the legends embedded in the city.
We will visit the exterior of the Academy of Athens, home to the only sculptures of Plato and Socrates, and the Numismatic Museum, which reflects the significance of ancient Greek coins in the economy and politics.
Afterwards, we will stroll through the National Garden and in front of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Arch of Hadrian. We will stop at each location to share various myths featuring deities like Zeus, Poseidon, and Aphrodite. The journey will encompass Greek mythology, philosophy, and poetry.
