Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the National Library of Greece to begin this tour of Greek mythology in Athens. We will share well-known myths as well as lesser-known ones.
What is Athens' foundation myth? Who is the city's patron deity? Why was the Acropolis constructed? Answers to these questions will be revealed during this mythological tour of Athens, where legends are present at every turn.
We will explore the exterior of the Academy of Athens, which houses the only sculptures of Plato and Socrates in the city, and the Numismatic Museum, detailing the role of ancient Greek coins in the economy and politics.
We will then stroll through the National Garden, in front of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Arch of Hadrian. At these locations, we will pause to discuss various myths involving Greek gods, including Zeus, Poseidon, and Aphrodite. This journey will interweave mythology, philosophy, and poetry, highlighting Athens' intellectual heritage.
After 2 hours, we will conclude our tour in front of the Acropolis Museum.
