Meteora 1 or 2 Day Trip

Perched high up on sandstone rock formations, the Meteora Monasteries are spectacular buildings that blend with the natural landscape. Visit them on a 1 or 2 day trip from Athens!

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, you'll head to Athens Central Station on your own and take the bus to Kalambaka Station, where you'll meet your guide. After a 4-hour journey, we'll arrive in Kalambaka and proceed to the stunning Meteora Monasteries. During the trip, the driver will provide insights into the history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You can book the option with lunch, which includes a main course from 10 Greek cuisine options, along with a salad, bread, and mineral water. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.

We'll have approximately 4 hours to visit the Meteora complex, accessing 3 of the 6 monasteries: Monastery of St. Nikolaos, Monastery of the Holy Trinity, and Monastery of St. Stephen. Before returning to Kalambaka, we'll stop at the Hermit Caves located between two rock formations. The tour concludes after 14 hours together.

2-Day Trip to Meteora

For a more extensive exploration, opt for a 2-day trip.

On the first day, we'll arrive in Kalabaka to check in at your hotel. We will visit the Byzantine Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary followed by a sunset at the Hermit Caves. Dinner is at local restaurants.

On the second day, enjoy a 4-hour guided tour of the Meteora monasteries, entering 3 monasteries and stopping at 6 others to admire their exteriors. We will leave Kalambaka at 6 pm, arriving in Athens about 4.5 hours later.

Important: The 2-day trip does not operate on December 7, 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31, 2024, and January 1, 2025.
