Meteora Day Trip

Perched high up on sandstone rock formations, the Meteora Monasteries are notable structures that harmonize with their natural surroundings. Experience them on a day trip from Athens.

Day Trip Details

At the scheduled time, you will make your way to Athens Central Station independently, then take the bus to Kalambaka Station to meet your guide.

After a 4-hour journey, we will arrive in Kalambaka and proceed to the Meteora Monasteries. Throughout the trip, the driver will provide insights into the history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You have the option to book lunch, with a selection of 10 Greek main courses, plus salad, bread, and mineral water. Vegetarian and vegan options are included.

We will spend around 4 hours exploring the Meteora complex, which comprises 6 monasteries: the Monastery of St. Nikolaos, Monastery of the Holy Trinity, Monastery of St. Stephen, Monastery of Roussanou, Monastery of Varlaam, and Monastery of Great Meteoron. All are of medieval origin and situated on sandstone mounds that dominate the landscape.

Before heading back to Kalambaka, we will stop at the Hermit Caves located between two rock formations, Pyxari and Amparia.

We will conclude our day after 14 hours together at the starting point.
