What is the MAC?

Since its opening in 1986, the Museum of Cycladic Art has been a key archaeological center in Athens, showcasing over 3,000 pieces from mainland Greece, Cyprus, and the Cyclades, with a focus on Cycladic Art from the 3rd millennium BC.

The museum's permanent collection spans three floors, each dedicated to a specific theme:

Cycladic culture: A selection of weapons, ceramic pieces, figures, and jugs from the Aegean Sea's Copper and Bronze Ages.Ancient Greek art: This collection details the origins and evolution of ancient Greek civilization and democracy.Cypriot art: This floor covers the history of ancient communities that settled on the island of Cyprus, a key location in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Museum of Cycladic Art Opening Times

The museum hours are as follows:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm.Thursday: 10 am to 8 pm.Sunday: 11 am to 5 pm.

Important Information

The museum is closed on Tuesdays and on specific holidays including Clean/Ash Monday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, and Holy Spirit Monday. Dates for these holidays vary annually, so it is advisable to check prior to visiting.
