On this tour of ancient Athens and the Acropolis, we'll visit landmarks such as the Parthenon, the Agora, Monastiraki, and Plaka.

Tour Description

We will meet at 26 Athanasiou Diakou to start our tour of old Athens, exploring a city with origins over three thousand years old. Our first stop will be Hadrian's Arch and the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the largest in Greece during the Hellenistic era. From there, we'll proceed to the Acropolis of Athens, accessing the site through the Propylaea. Here, we will view the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion.

Next, we will visit the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the Agora, the center of ancient Athenian life. The tour continues with the National Observatory of Athens and finishes with a panoramic viewpoint of the hills of Philopappos, Mars, and Pnyx.

We will then explore the Monastiraki district, observing the ruins of Hadrian's Library and the Tower of the Winds. The tour concludes with a walk through the Athenian neighborhoods of Plaka and Anafiotika, ending in Anafiotika 3.5 hours after the tour begins.
