Why Visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus?
The Temple of Olympian Zeus, also known as the Olympieion, was built between 470 and 456 BC and was one of the largest religious structures in the ancient world. Originally supported by 104 Corinthian columns, only 15 remain today. Its dimensions were 180 metres (590 feet) long and 40 metres (131 feet) wide. A large gold and ivory statue of Zeus was also originally present. Visitors can admire architectural details and enjoy views of nearby landmarks like Syntagma Square, Zappeion Gardens, and Panathenaic Stadium.

April 1 to October 31: 8 am to 8 pm (final admission at 7:30 pm)November 1 to March 31: 8 am to 3 pm (final admission at 2:30 pm)
