On this free tour of the Centennial Olympic Park, we'll uncover the mysteries behind one of the most famous sporting events in Atlanta's history as we journey through the 90s.

Description

We'll meet at the Centennial Olympic Park ringside at the indicated time to explore an important chapter in Atlanta's sporting history.

Throughout our free tour, we'll learn interesting facts about the 1996 Olympic Games, discovering the impact of this event on the city. We'll walk through important city squares that reference the Olympic Games, including a tribute to the athletes of Ancient Greece and an overview of previous host cities. We'll also view a sculpture of Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games.

We will also remember the tragic terrorist attack that occurred during the Atlanta Olympics while addressing its consequences. The final stretch of our tour will include culturally significant landmarks such as the Georgia Aquarium, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the World of Coca-Cola exhibition, the Skyview Atlanta Ferris Wheel, and the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel.

The tour will conclude after approximately one hour and 15 minutes near the original starting point.
