On this free tour of the Centennial Olympic Park, we will explore historical aspects of one of the most famous sporting events in Atlanta's history in the 90s.
Description
We will meet at the Centennial Olympic Park ringside at the scheduled time to delve into an important chapter in Atlanta's sporting history.
During the free tour, we will discover facts about the 1996 Olympic Games and their impact on Atlanta.
We will walk through several important city squares related to the Olympic Games, highlighting elements such as a tribute to the athletes of Ancient Greece and an overview of previous host cities. We will also see a sculpture of Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games.
Additionally, we will address the tragic terrorist attack during the Atlanta Olympics and its repercussions.
The latter part of our tour will feature significant landmarks, including the Georgia Aquarium, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the World of Coca-Cola exhibition, the Skyview Atlanta Ferris Wheel, and the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel.
The tour will conclude after approximately one hour and 15 minutes at the original starting point.
