Description
At the indicated time, we will meet at Auburn Avenue to begin this free civil rights tour of Atlanta and learn about Martin Luther King's legacy in Georgia's capital city.
During the tour, we will delve into the history of the civil rights movement in the United States with a focus on Martin Luther King.
We will trace the life of Martin Luther King by visiting significant locations such as his childhood home and the Ebenezer Baptist Church associated with his family. We will also visit the burial place of Martin Luther King and his wife.
Next, we will discuss the history of the African-American community and review recently implemented equality laws as we walk through the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame.
Our next stops will include Wheat Street Church and the oldest fire station in Atlanta, both significant to racial integration. Additionally, we will view several striking urban art murals.
After 2 hours of sightseeing, we will conclude the free tour at Jackson Street Bridge.
