Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Auckland for a day trip to Hobbiton and Rotorua.

On the way south, we will share facts about New Zealand's biggest city and enjoy views of iconic points of interest.

We'll cross the Waikato countryside, known for its agricultural significance. Look out for mountains, animals, rivers, and scenic views. Photo opportunities will be available.

Our first destination is Hobbiton, the film set of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. We'll spend 2 hours touring The Shire, visiting 44 hobbit holes and gardens, and enjoying a drink at the Green Dragon™ Inn.

Next, we will stop in Tirau, known as the World Capital of Wrought Iron, to see its unique sculptures. Food stops will be available if you wish.

Upon arriving in Rotorua, we will take a guided tour of the Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland, featuring Lake Champagne, Devil's Bath, mud pools, and geothermal craters.

We will drive around Rotorua’s landmarks like Lake Rotorua, the Rotorua Museum, Government Gardens, Whangapipiro Spring, and Blue Baths. Time permitting, we may stop for Manuka honey tasting.

We will conclude the tour, returning to the departure point in Auckland 13 hours after starting.
