Civil War & Civil Rights Tour

The tour begins with pick up from your hotel in Atlanta at the scheduled time. Participants will board a comfortable bus to explore the city's significant sites related to the Civil War.

Our first destination is Cabbagetown, a historic residential neighbourhood listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places for its relevance to the cotton industry.

Next, we will visit Inman Park, the site of the Battle of Atlanta which played a crucial role in the war's conclusion. Despite extensive destruction, some Victorian houses remain intact.

We will conclude the Civil War segment at Oakland Cemetery, the resting place of soldiers and notable figures, including the founder of the Masters Golf Tournament and Margaret Mitchell.

The tour will then focus on Atlanta's political history, particularly Civil Rights. We will visit the home, church, and grave of Martin Luther King Jr., with a guide providing insights into his leadership and the movement.

Finally, the tour includes a visit to the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, a public market that was once the wealthiest African-American street in the world in the 1920s.

At the end of the tour, participants will return to their hotels in Atlanta.
