The Austin Food Tour starts at 111 Congress Avenue, next to the Fareground Restaurant entrance at 2:45 pm. The tour includes a tasting of American BBQ sauce with Mexican roots, featuring Texas-style BBQ brisket, pinto beans, and green chili.
Participants will stroll along the theatre avenue, admiring its Art Deco architecture, before heading to Congress Avenue to learn about historic buildings. A stop to sample a traditional dish, the chicken tamale, will be included.
At a restaurant owned by a renowned local chef, visitors will taste Austin Weird, a unique pizza blending different flavors, followed by a special secret dish. The tour concludes around Congress Street near the Texas State Capitol, where participants will enjoy Austin's famous sweets.
