On this guided tour of Austin, we'll explore the history and notable sites in the center of Texas' capital.
Description
We will meet at the designated time in front of Jo's Coffee to begin our guided tour of Austin through the historic center.
Our route includes a walk along Congress Avenue, leading to one of Austin's key landmarks, the Texas Capitol.
Before reaching this important site, we'll stop by the historic Speakeasy bar, where we'll share before and after images of the area.
Continuing along Congress Avenue, we will arrive at the Capitol, which is noted for being bigger than the Capitol in Washington, D.C.
After appreciating this neo-Renaissance style building, built in 1888, we will visit the Moody Theatre, a modern live music venue that hosts around 100 concerts annually and accommodates 2750 people. A visit is recommended if you stay in Austin.
The tour will conclude after approximately one hour and fifteen to one hour and a half of exploration, returning to the original meeting point.
