Mustafapa?a, Sobessos + So?anli Valley Tour

Between 9 am and 9:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cappadocia to explore lesser-known areas of the region.

First, we will visit Mustafapa?a, an ancient Greek city also referred to as Sinasos. This settlement has strong ties to Orthodox history and played a role in the Turkish War of Independence.

The next stop is Sobessos, located near Sahinefendi. This Roman settlement, discovered by treasure hunters in 2002, features remnants of significant structures, including baths, the agora, the basilica, and the bouleuterion.

After Sobessos, we will have an hour for lunch at a local restaurant. Following lunch, we will proceed to the So?anli valley, known for its rock-hewn churches with diverse architectural styles. A short hike will allow exploration of the temples and their frescoes.

We will then visit the Keslik Monastery, famous for its frescoes visible only by torchlight. The tour concludes in Avanos, renowned for its handicrafts, where you can participate in pottery making. We will return you to your hotel in Cappadocia between 4 pm and 4:30 pm.
