Explore the beautiful region in southeast France with this Provence Day Trip from Avignon. You'll visit Gordes, Saint Rémy, Roussillon, and Pont du Gard.

Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the tourist office in Avignon at the indicated time to board a minibus for our exploration of Provence.

Our first stop will be Roussillon, known for its ochre-colored houses. We'll explore the village and admire the ochre cliffs, including Le Sentier des Ocres. If the trip occurs on a Thursday, we will visit its traditional market.

Next, we will head to Gordes. A brief stop at a viewpoint will allow for photographs before continuing to Fontaine de Vaucluse, where you'll have free time for lunch at a local restaurant.

After this, we will visit the center of Saint Rémy, noted for its landscapes and architecture, which inspired Vincent Van Gogh's paintings.

Subsequently, we'll stop at Les Baux de Provence for about an hour of free time to explore this medieval fortress.

Finally, we'll visit Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct recognized for its preservation. We'll discuss its significance to nearby villages before returning to Avignon after a 10.5-hour day trip.
