Explore the beautiful region in southeast France with this Provence Day Trip from Avignon. You'll visit Gordes, Saint Rémy, Roussillon, Pont du Gard, and more.
Description
We'll meet at the tourist office in Avignon to board a minibus for our Provence journey. Our first stop will be Roussillon, where we will walk through the village, known for its ochre-colored houses and cliffs like Le Sentier des Ocres. The central square offers a scenic setting for photographs.
Next, we will visit Gordes for a brief photo opportunity before proceeding inland to Fontaine de Vaucluse. Here, you will have free time to explore the area and dine at a local restaurant.
Afterwards, we will see the renowned Pont du Gard, an aqueduct from the Roman Empire, and discuss its conservation and significance to nearby villages.
We'll then stop at Les Baux de Provence, where you will have about an hour of free time to explore the medieval fortress.
Finally, the tour will conclude in Saint Rémy, allowing time to stroll the historic center. We will return to Avignon, completing the 10-hour day trip.
