Follow in the footsteps of the famous Dutch artist and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence with this Provence Van Gogh Tour. A unique route for lovers of expressionism!
Description
"I dream my painting and paint my dream." To discover more about Van Gogh's time in Provence, we'll meet at 41 Cours Jean Jaurès at the indicated time.
The itinerary begins with a photo stop in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where Van Gogh painted 'The Starry Night'. You will have time to visit the recreation of Van Gogh's old room if desired.
Next, we will travel to Arles, where the artist lived from 1888 onwards. A walking tour will cover its historic centre, including the symbolic Café Van Gogh, depicted in 'Café Terrace at Night', and a visit to the Arenes de Arles, a well-preserved Roman amphitheater.
Participants will have 30 minutes of free time. On Saturdays, you may visit the popular weekly market in Arles. The tour concludes with a return to Avignon, completing approximately 6 hours of exploration.
Itinerary changes
This excursion may occasionally operate in reverse, starting with Arles before proceeding to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
