Tour to Pachapupum Volcano

With this excursion to the Pachapupum volcano, you'll visit the famous volcano in Sacsamarca and bathe in its mineral-rich pools!

Tour Details

We'll meet at the Plaza de Armas at the indicated time. A bus will take us to Sacsamarca, located south of Ayacucho.

During the 4-5 hour trip, we'll stop in Condorccocha for a leg stretch and breakfast on your own. There will be another stop in Huanca Sancos for lunch purchases.

Upon arrival at the Pachapupum volcano, we'll walk to the top via natural steps formed by erosion. At the summit, you can admire the crater measuring 10 meters in diameter, with water boiling from geothermal heat.

Other small wells around the crater, created by erosion, contain mineral-rich waters such as salt and sulfur. You can bathe in these hot springs and enjoy their healing properties. Bring your swimsuit.

Afterward, you can have lunch with the food you brought. We'll then return by bus to Ayacucho, with an arrival at the initial departure point scheduled for 18:00.
