Tour to Pachapupum Volcano

Tour Overview

We will commence our adventure at the Plaza de Armas, where our bus will be ready to transport us to Sacsamarca, a prominent agricultural region situated to the south of Ayacucho.

The journey will take approximately 4 to 5 hours, during which we will pause in the charming town of Condorccocha for a breather and the chance to have breakfast at your own pace. Following this, we will make another brief stop in Huanca Sancos, allowing those without a packed lunch to procure a bite to eat before noon.

Upon reaching the majestic Pachapupum volcano, we will ascend to the summit via natural steps sculpted by centuries of erosion. At the peak, you will be greeted by the sight of the spectacular 10-meter diameter crater, where you can observe the water bubbling from the geothermal activity beneath.

In addition to the main crater, discover surrounding smaller pools that emerged from similar erosional processes over millennia. These pools boast mineral-rich waters containing salts and sulfur, providing a perfect opportunity for a rejuvenating soak. Remember to pack your swimsuit to fully enjoy this natural spa experience!

Afterward, you can enjoy your packed lunch in a scenic setting. As the day comes to a close, we will board the bus for our return to Ayacucho, with an expected arrival back at the starting point around 6 PM.
