This ticket allows you to access the Azay-le-Rideau castle, recognized as one of the Loire Valley’s most esteemed fortresses. Nestled on an island within the Indre River, this castle is not only an architectural wonder but also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Loire Valley.

As you explore, you will encounter various rooms including the Biencourt Room, featuring opulent designs from the 18th and 19th centuries, and the bedroom of Philippe Lesbahy, spouse of the castle's original owner from the 16th century, Giles Berthelot.

Its stunning façade and the picturesque reflection in the water are sure to leave you in awe.

Operating Hours

The Azay-le-Rideau castle welcomes visitors during the following times:

September 1 to September 30: 9:30 am to 6 pm.October 1 to March 31: 10 am to 5:15 pm.April 1 to June 30: 9:30 am to 6 pm.July 1 to August 31: 9:30 am to 7 pm.

On December 24 and December 31, the castle will close at 4 pm.

Important: The final entry to the castle is permitted one hour prior to closing time.

Complimentary Admission

Entry to the Azay-le-Rideau Castle is complimentary for the following groups:

Individuals aged 18 to 25 from the European Union.All children under the age of 18, regardless of nationality.

Additionally, everyone can visit for free on the first Sunday of each month from January 1 to March 31, and from November 1 to December 31. The third weekend of September also offers free entry.
