This ticket grants you access to visit the Azay-le-Rideau castle, a notable fortress in the Loire Valley. Set on an island in the middle of the Indre River, this castle boasts an architectural design that is part of the Loire Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You'll have the opportunity to explore various rooms including the Biencourt Room, characterized by its luxurious 18th and 19th-century design, and Phillippe Lesbahy's bedroom, the spouse of Giles Berthelot, the castle's first owner in the 16th century.

Additionally, the impressive façade and its reflection in the water will leave you in awe.

Opening Times

The castle of Azay-le-Rideau operates under the following schedule:

From September 1 to September 30: 9:30 am to 6 pm.From October 1 to March 31: 10 am to 5:15 pm.From April 1 to June 30: 9:30 am to 6 pm.From July 1 to August 31: 9:30 am to 7 pm.

Please note that on December 24 and December 31, the castle will close at 4 pm.

Note, the last admission to the castle is one hour before closing.

Free Admission

Admission to the Castle of Azay-le-Rideau is complimentary for the following individuals:

Young people from the European Union aged 18 to 25 years.Children under 18 years of age, regardless of nationality.

Free admission is also available for all visitors on the first Sunday of the month from January 1 to March 31, and from November 1 to December 31. Additionally, the third weekend of September offers free entry.

To obtain the free admission mentioned above, you must visit the site’s ticket office and present a certifying document to prove eligibility for a free ticket.
