This ticket allows you to visit the Azay-le-Rideau castle, a key fortress in the Loire Valley, located on an island in the Indre River. It is part of the Loire Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore various rooms, including the Biencourt Room with its 18th and 19th-century decor, and Phillippe Lesbahy’s bedroom, the residence of the castle's first owner from the 16th century. The castle boasts an impressive façade and a picturesque reflection in the water.
Opening Times
The opening hours for Azay-le-Rideau castle are as follows:
September 1 to September 30: 9:30 am to 6 pm.October 1 to March 31: 10 am to 5:15 pm.April 1 to June 30: 9:30 am to 6 pm.July 1 to August 31: 9:30 am to 7 pm.
On December 24 and December 31, the castle closes at 4 pm. The last admission is one hour before closing.
Free Admission
Free admission is available for:
Young individuals from the European Union aged 18 to 25.Children under 18 years old, regardless of nationality.
Additionally, free entry is granted on the first Sunday of each month from January to March and from November to December, and during the third weekend of September. To obtain free admission, visit the site’s ticket office with a certifying document to prove eligibility.
