Join us on a hiking tour around the Santuario degli Uccelli (Bird Sanctuary) to experience views of the sea and Cape Miseno, and discover the variety of bird species in Bacoli. Hiking boots at the ready?

Tour Description

We'll meet on the Bacoli coast at the designated time, specifically at the Shopping Area on Via Miseno, to begin our tour along the Santuario degli Uccelli hiking path.

We'll walk to the slopes of the old Miseno crater, formed between 10,000 and 25,000 years ago. The local geology has encouraged numerous bird species to settle here, making this area a true sanctuary. Keep an eye out during our hiking tour, as you may see seagulls flying back to their nests.

Next, we'll continue along the ancient path, surrounded by Mediterranean oak trees and shrubs. You'll get impressive views of Monte di Procida, where remnants of the ancient Archiflegrean Volcano lie.

Once we reach the highest point, enjoy a scenic view of the Pozzuoli Gulf and the islands of Ischia, Capri, and Procida. You might even spot the Miseno Lighthouse in the distance. Remember to take photos!

Finally, we'll begin our descent down a path through the crater’s interior, leading us near the Cape Miseno Lighthouse. After a 2-hour hike, our tour will come to an end.
